Stuart Henley, a cherished OC who sadly passed away on 12 January 2023, leaves a legacy that continues to inspire. 

A devoted member of the Society, Stuart also had a passion for horse racing. Some years ago, he bought his wife, Bridget, a racehorse, Burgundy Betty, as a gift. After a few runs, she was retired, and the family has since bred from her. 

Following three fillies, her fourth progeny - a colt sired by Jack Hobbs - was quickly named the Old Clayesmorian by Stuart, in a tribute to his fondness for Clayesmore School and the time he spent here.

In a remarkable debut at Warwick, The Old Clayesmorian carried forward the family's winning tradition, a fitting tribute to Stuart's spirit and enduring influence.
