On the 2nd and 3rd of July, Clayesmore ran a two-day Business Challenge event for their Year 10 pupils. The students were required to form mini-companies and research, produce, and market a product. Each "company" was assigned a business advisor who led them through a guided program and helped them set up the business, develop a product, source funding, and then market and sell the product. We were delighted to welcome back several OCs who volunteered to help with the day and act as advisors to the companies. It was a very busy couple of days, with the students putting together trade stands, holding finance meetings, filming adverts for their products, and culminating in a Dragon's Den-style pitch at the end, where they had to compete against each other for funding. Year 10 excelled in this challenge. They achieved a huge amount in such a short space of time. They all got stuck in, worked brilliantly together, and developed those all-important skills that are such a prominent feature of a Clayesmore education. The volunteers were hugely impressed. Congratulations to all the students involved, and a huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped make the day such a resounding success. If you would like to get involved and help support future career events, please contact Hannah Lister at 01747 813177 or hlister@gmail.com. |
